Fishing Observers Seek Funding Increase from Congress

Show me the money.

That’s the message a group of tuna fishermen and lobstermen from Maine and Massachusetts who traveled to Washington, D.C., asked members of Congress this week.

The delegation, that included fishermen from Cape Cod, are seeking an increase in funding to the National Marine Fisheries Service to provide observer coverage of the mid-water trawl herring fishing fleet.
